Nick and Julie … Pre Wedding shoot
We braved the heavy rain and made our way up to Llanthony Priory today (Saturday) up in the Black Mountains for Nick and Julie’s pre-wedding shoot. We spent most of the time in the lovely little pub there waiting to see if the rain would ease any (it didn’t) … but managed to grab a couple of shots on the way out. We shall be rescheduling as we didn’t really get a chance to go through our usual pre-flight coaching.

Nick and Julie are getting married at Llansantffraed Court Hotel in October. Winter weddings are a bit of a speciality at Abbey House Studios and an excuse to play with all the lights that rarely get used during the summer.
It takes a high level of skill to use lighting without killing the ambience and speed is of the essence as we are working against the clock, the weather and the day-light.
Winter weddings demand a lot of skill and technique, not to mention much more equipment … you can easily tell the standard of photographer through the winter by just watching them work. If you are having a winter wedding, insist on seeing a complete album taken in adverse conditions …
