Narrative wedding photography ….
The story of the day ….
There are so many different “styles” available in wedding photography today it’s difficult to know what is meant by “traditional” or “contemporary” or “creative” or “reportage” or “photodocumentary” and like anything that gains a label it attracts arguments over what the label is and isn’t.
Regular readers of this blog will know that I have been searching for some time for a term that says exactly what we do … “story telling” has an element of fiction to it and sounds less than authentic.
So our official style is now “Narrative Wedding Photography” … the genuine story of your wedding day, from start at the hairdresser right through to fireworks, an elegant, beautiful blend of classical images and “observed moments” that tell an authentic, emotional and powerful story of the day. In our case captured by two exceptional photographers offering two different angles on the day’s proceedings.
The most important thing from our point of view is that your album should be a fabulous record of your day that is as powerful on your silver wedding anniversary as it was when you received it, devoid of photographer contrived fad and fashion, but an emotional, authentic record with your feelings for each other shining through ……. an important moment in your family history and something you can be proud to show to your grandchildren in years to come.
