Clearwell Castle - Sandra and Giles - 29th October 2007

Giles and Sandra had a beautiful day for their wedding at St. Peter’s, Clearwell followed by a reception at Clearwell Castle.

Many of Sandra’s relatives had flown over from Sweden for the occasion.

Highlights of the day included a horses and carriage from and back to the castle, always a fabulous sight. There was a candle lighting ceremony in the church and David Lawrence, the vicar (no relation!) was absolutely brilliant to us … photograph were and what you want with no restrictions. A BIG thanks for that …. it strikes me as strange that there are places where your wedding photographer isn’t allowed to photograph the wedding.

When we got back to the castle there were 1,000 helium balloons to be released. I didn’t realise this but you have to get permission to do this from Air Traffic Control and this involved Birmingham, Cardiff, Bristol and Heathrow with a very precise time slot as to when they can be released! (We live and learn!)

The Swedes also have a slightly different take on the wedding breakfast and the toasts are spread throughout the meal (keeping the photographers on their toes!) and involves a certain amount of singing.

Another nice touch was a sealed box that the guests placed predictions in for 5 years time (along with a nice bottle of bubbly), when the box is allowed to be opened.

The evening featured a band as well as the disco and the biggest chocolate fountain we have ever seen.  Fireworks finished the day off with a bang!

We were never short of amazing picture opportunites throughout the day.

A great time was had by all and thanks to the girls at the castle for looking after us.
