Clearwell Castle - James and Cathereen - 10th February 2008

Clearwell Castle - James and Cathereen-03Another crisp, clear, sunny winter day at Clearwell Castle. I had a good walk around the castle and grounds whilst Fran was with Cathereen before meeting up with James and the boys in the Wyndham Arms … it never ceases to amaze me that no matter how many times you have been to a venue previously that there is always something different to photograph because of the way the light falls … there were some interesting shadows being cast on the walls, doors and even the gates, making for really interesting, “atmospheric”, pictures. We moved up to the castle capturing a few pictures on the way, I particularly like the shot of the boys walking up the avenue, shown below.

The left hand pictures just show how amazing the light is and the views and backgrounds that Clearwell Castle offers for wedding photography. Again the best pictures are never the smiley ones for the camera, but the ones that show great “connection” and intimacy between the bride and groom. A wedding should be about the bride and groom — NEVER the photographer. Our strength is that we “go-with-the-flow” and capture what is really happening rather than pushing the couple through a “fantasy” created by the photographer, that way your album never dates or looks “false” because it is genuinely about you, and your emotions and feelings.

Cleverly James and Cathereen had their speeches and cut the cake before the meal which meant that we could take pictures of this phase of the day and still squeeze it into our baseline coverage!
