Monmouth Shire Hall and Ancre Hill Vineyard - Chris and Sarah
A local wedding for us today, a welcome change to our recent globe trotting. We travelled up the A466 to Monmouth to cover the celebrations of Sarah and Chris in perfect summer weather with a little light breeze.
The venue for the ceremony was the Shire Hall in Monmouth, which has just under gone major renovations and refurbishment, Sarah and Chris’s nuptials were the very first wedding to be held there, quite an event and a celebration in its own right. Our couple live and work in Australia and so the months of preparations have been achieved over a very long distance indeed!
Sarah’s family seat is at the Ancre Hill Vineyard and the reception was held in their beautiful grounds, a perfect backdrop for our wedding “story-telling” images to come alive.
As you can imagine there was plenty of liquid refreshment on hand, as Chris put it in one of his speech remarks (to Sarah’s father); “Thanks for bringing your ‘home brew’ along! That produced lots of laughter from the guests.
Sarah and Chris wanted a very relaxed documentary coverage of their wedding with very few “formals”, so while the canapes were being served to guests we sneaked off for a short private session in another part of the gardens. A couple of family shots and then it was back to the very handsome marquee for a ‘cake-cut’. With long lenses affixed it was then on out to mingle with the guests to get those unaware fun “atmospheric” shots that everyone likes.
The reception began with the speeches and these were included in our coverage, and everyone certainly had good laugh, the bestman with his bag of props went down particularly well.
Our thanks go to the team at The Shire Hall for doing a splendid ‘first’ and we hope to see you all again very soon. Kay at Deacons arranged the flowers and beautiful bouquets and as always produced a grand job.
Sarah and Chris: have a safe journey home with lots of lovely memories of your wedding day, shared with family and friends.
