Maunsel House - James and Gemma
Today’s wedding was at Maunsel House in Somerset. Gemma and James were as excited as we were. Easter weddings bring out the colourful hats, pimms and lush greenery mingled with laughter and jazz playing in the background!
All the girls were in the lavish King’s Room having hair and make up done when Fran arrived, Helen the hairdresser did a fab job and Anneka (James’ sister) did a beautiful job of the make-up.
The big rooms and large windows at Maunsel are a gift for any professional photographer that specialises in using available light. Fran was over the moon and the images that she has taken of Gemma are stunning!
Rolo, the couple’s golden lab go everywhere they do and today was no exception and Rolo had a very important job as ring bearer! Smartly attired in his bow tie he was escorted down the aisle to a delighted crowd.
Gemma and James had elected to have a mainly outdoor ceremony which was held in Maunsel’s beautifully decorated gazebo. The grounds of Maunsel House lend themselves perfectly to beautiful and creative wedding photography.
Gemma looked stunning in her Ian Stuart dress … (James, Rob would like to have his silk hanky back at some stage please)!
Speeches were delivered outside too by both dads followed by a wonderful meal in the main dining room.
If they say that laughter is the best medicine, then everyone needs their bestman, James’s brother, he got the room rolling around!
With the sun setting slowly down we went out for some romantic walks to make best use of the soft evening light. These photographs always end up being some of our couples favorites.
Our most grateful thanks go to Pippa and her team for an excellent day with plenty of fun and refreshments! Gemma and James, you are a great couple and thank you for your hospitality … to be your photographers was a privilege and a pleasure.
