Clearwell Castle - Luke and Shelley
Shelley and Luke were married at Holy Trinity, Tibberton, Gloucestershire and afterwards at Clearwell Castle, Royal Forest of Dean.
One of those days where it just rained and rained and still rained …. and not gently either, at some stages it was just like someone up-turned a bucket on us. Bob got soaked through to the skin.
However nothing was going to spoil Luke and Shelley’s day. The rain was a mere inconvenience ….
A BIG “thank you” to Pam the vicar for accommodating us and allowing us to take photographs in the church, both during the ceremony and afterwards and also to Liz at Clearwell Castle for her help, over and above the call of duty, to assist us with giving the guys the coverage that we all so much wanted them to have. Even to the point of letting us throw the confetti indoors!
We almost got the classic staircase shot of all the guests between the main-course and sweet, but no sooner had we got 60% of everyone out, the heavens opened again. Oh well, we tried.
Weddings in the rain always produce an interesting set of pictures and our studio white umbrellas often come to the rescue in inclement conditions as well as providing lots of photo opportunities!
Fortunately before we packed up the rain lifted in the early evening and we managed to capture the bride and groom in the lovely environment of Clearwell Castle. At least their wedding photographs now show where the reception was!
We would like to thank Shelley and Luke for having us as “working” guests and we were particularly touched by the gift we received of pottery candleholders with our names fired in … we shall treasure them.
